Baby Time

I have just had the breaking work news that one of our managers Katie has just had a lovely boy in the 8 pound region. I am so glad to hear this and little Lochlan Keith is the proud owner of a lovely hand knit baby set and a crochet baby shawl that I completed and won with at Robertson show in March.

I now have the next baby to focus on and want to finish the few things as soon as I can. I have finally started the final sleeve for the little V neck cardy and dad really approved it today. I hope to get alot done on the baby blanket over the weekend. Pictures I'll do on the weekend too as it is far too late to do that now.

I may even give the Baby surprise jacket a go if I enough time or may I will work on the tea cosy's features as the blanks are done now. I think focal point of little baby knitting is best. One day I will even knit the 2 second socks that got neglected due to orders.

Opposite extremes

Extreme 1

I have rather small feet they are 8 1/2 inch long in total and the same around the ball of the foot. Shoe shopping does not really exist here as trips to the kids section and the questions of where is the child are getting a bit old. If I had money everytime I am asked so what it is in adults sizes well it dont rate and sock shopping is just as bad when the heel ends up halfway up my leg due to the need for fat feet accomodation. So new slippers cause a little concern do I need to order them to be made. I was able to walk into a sheepskin factory and they were perfect straight off the shelf. If only it was always that way.

Extreme 2

Clothes shopping easy normally but new Pj's get the normal size I buy and think no more. Looked and thought they may be long so tonight tried them on. MMMM too small so back I go. I hope they still have some left as it was a sale when I got them.

I have been busy the past few days helping a friend with setting up his Photography Business Website. I was checking the layout and even assisting with some research to others about. So if may need some work they may be able to help you.

The blanket continues and I am still figuring out more ideas in my head for other projects. I even have to think of a good tea cosy for a friend who is about to travel in a camper bus with her tea pot and hubby so her tea will stay good and warm. Do I use a tea cosy well let me say I dont think the tea has a chance to cool before the pot is dry again.

**** update 27/8
Pj's returned and well nope hope but a refund and it has now cost far more than twice the price to get a pair as it seems my size is far too popular.

Another weekend

Saturday sky from outside the Novotel before stitch n bitch. Pity I had to go to work to do a 2 hour floor shift of supervisior. I will say I got plenty done when I could work on the baby blanket.

Yesterday was Daffodil day and well great time to do a quick shot of the nice daffodils we had at work. The money raised goes to Cancer research. Last count work had raised over $700 for the cancer council in products they have for the day.

Just for those who want to know how Boss is hes happily watching DVDs with me and watching the blanket grow.

I was showing one of the others at work my camera in our Breakout room ( lunch area) and well as my attention was distracted to see a camera phone picture I was framed and snapped. See our in house Cafe behind me. Pity it isnt open most of the time I am at work.

Baby Blanket progress and well it has even grown further since the picture. I am loving how it turns out. I have to nail a few UFO's soon too and maybe I can get to some nice otherthings. Next is a White circular shawl again perfect for camp it is rather mindless for the major part of it.

So now a few other things are organised and I am set to go just cannot wait the next 4 weeks till I can go. Will be alot of fun and can tell you there will be a good amount worked on over the 4 days.

Going along and getting there slowly......

Not much to report really I am going well on my tea cosy project with nearly both outer panels done ready for the touch to make them come alive. The baby blanket plods along with a goal of asap finish. There are skeins of yarn to be wound into balls, things to organise as well.

I have managed to get a lovely pattern for the 2ply baby set from ebay. Hope to start that sometime soon. Lots of ideas are running through my mind. Camp ideas of what to take to work on and what to pack as easy not too much thinking knitting.

I need to work on the few ufos I notice about. There are show entries to start thinking for and maybe get prepared for 2 baby blankets to do and a little beanie. I think it will be ok. Camp and the extra days off will fix it up atleast I hope it will.

Only about 5 weeks till camp and I cant wait I need the break from work. I love knitting camps where else do you get nothing but the full excuse to knit or crochet to your hearts content minus all the regular distractions.

PRGE round 3 questions

1. Why are you punk?
I'm not exactly punk in the real sense I am a metal head with a great passion for the classic metal bands and wish I could stay back there. I dont listen to mainstream music and have basically shut my music world to the bands I grew up on. I guess you could call it punk to hold your own in todays world. I do knit well lots of weird and wonderful teacosys too.

2. What are your five favorite things? (these don't have to be knit related)

I love good leaf tea from here, Good dark chocolate and love hersheys, cookies love them esp shortbread ones, photography, classic metal.

3. What are your three favorite things that you have made with knitting/crochet?

Tea cosys, socks, vests for me

4. What five things would you love to see in a swap box someday?

Hersheys, knit picks, go knits camo pouch, military patches or pins ( any service), sock needles.

5. What are your three favorite yarns? What are your three least favorite yarns?

I love good soft alpaca, soft merino, good sock yarn, I totally cannot stand scratchy yarns, fun fuzz or cotton.

6. What are your five favorite delicacies?

Tea, cookies/biscuits, hersheys, dark chocolate, whisky marmalade.

7. What are your three favorite guilty pleasures?

Tea, scotch, whiskey marmalade

8. What are the five things you look forward to every week?

My nightly chats with my mate Steve, knitting groups, wandering about the area in my car, Good pots of tea, my nightly dark chocolate with a book.

9. What do you collect?

I collect military bears, military patches and pins, tea to enjoy at my leisure, and I guess tea cosy ideas in my sketchbook.

10. When is your birthday?

24th June

11. Do you have any wishlists?

No sorry

12. What would you like your pal to know that is not covered here?

You may also like to read all the other previous questionaires. I am super sensitive in the skin and with strong scents I am very cautious what creams I use ect. Things sent from overseas need to be carefull of the contents with very strict customs and quarrantine here. You will also note from the previous ones I live with MS and it slightly slows me back and makes my life a bit different. The previous swap questions should help you out more.

Its raining again and I love it

Here we have saturday sky just before it started to bucket down. It is still good an wet and all I can say is well I got shawls to work on so good stay that way. Green shawl is going very nicely and soon another white circular one has to start.

Today was Knitters Guild and we had a chance to turn the heel on socks. I had done one of the magic 28's complete and the 2nd to the heel to show turning the heel. I got the 2nd one done instead. So these are off to the guardian angel programme in the morning. Such a great pattern and a good stash buster too. For now I hope to work on some UFO's and make them FO's atleast the weather is on my side.

More Progress

I have been working away madly on a Baby blanket that will soon be finished and well I will not tell you how far it really has progressed. It has grown well and will soon meet its little one that will own it. I also have some other little things to complete for the baby. I have kept them hush as they are a bit of secret knitting and soon I will reveal them.

One of the Alpaca farms has requested 4ply lacy scarves and with an asap need. Quick pattern was needed and so Purse stitch has been the best way just a pile of mindless knitting really. I have the green one now finished and the maroon one below done. I have just casted the emerald green one on.
I even had a slightly seniors situation today when requested to make a jumper to fit a small child or a large doll I assumed this means a size 1 and purchased enough yarn to go with that size. I found out after returning from the shops it is to be a size 2 minimum so I hope they have an extra ball in my dye lot to save me from purchasing a whole new lot of yarn. Oh well atleast come the end of the garment I will have completed Stage 1 of my Achievement in Knitting certificate. I will just be greatful Big W has the yarn on sale.

Super Saturday

Here we have busy day Saturday Sky, I had the tax return to do and shopping and still go to knitting at Shellharbour. I managed to get it all done plus get Steve some lollies and drop them off after knitting. Most of all plenty was knitted. So not a bad day despite the fact the lake had some small white horses due to the winds.

Even the pelicans were almost surfing in them.

Knitting pics will come tomorrow. I have a few things to get organised and finalised.

Some results are in

I have had a rather odd start to the week. On sunday I enjoyed a nice trip to Robertson to drop an order off with one of the alpaca farms. We meet there and enjoy a nice coffee in the courtyard of Chats Cafe. I even stop and look at a few shops while I am there. They had fresh date scones with lemon myrtle in one shop so some came home for afternoon tea with me.

I alos picked up more yarn for a baby to be displayed next year and a possible order as well. Things do work well. I now just have to make a few baby blankets and beanies. Focus are this week is scarves.

Today my assesed samples return with 2 small things to re submit and a garment as the final piece for stage1. It seems like eons ago it was posted. They did like my essay though so that will be great. I might st down on sunday and make the tiny things that are requested. Garment requires me to read the notes again to figure out.

For now its toil on some scarves to do a final post next week.

Oh dear its Wedding time

I nearly forgot Saturday Sky as I had a wedding to attend. So here the Groom helps to show it was a lovely day which was clear but cool. The groomon the otherhand is very nervous but a total gentleman.
Our newest married couple who happens to have been my youth group leader and her new husband. We all called her Mum and now we have a new Dad to which was replied I see you as my daughter because if I had a daughter she would mabye be your age. Its ok he knows my real age.

The lovely ceremony was then followed on with a afternoon tea in the adjoining hall. Such a wonderful distraction to my knitting.

I have a drop off for an order tomorrow morning and then it is full steam ahead on finishing the next order of scarves and
