A wonderful Tuesday....

Where do I start I got my PRGE package from Carly today packed with plenty of goodies. I got some yummy knitpicks essentials and endpaper mitts pattern. 2 packets of Hersheys and some knitarella cards. A cd of Dragonforce and 3 military patches. I have a top gun patch, a special forces and a seabee one. How awesome I love it all but wait theres more........
I got RAOK'D I was holding up some sock yarn leftovers for my friend at work Christiana to collect for her leftover sock yarn blanket and she came with a bag bubbling over with goodies. One random act of kindness parcel in my spot. I got 3 betty crocker choc puds and a big bag of caramel blinky bills and plane stickers. A crochet hook and a camo pencil case which I will put my hooks into and some purse frames for my baby Tessa bags. Double goodness. Now I only have to keep knitting socks to finish the strays.

lazy monday afternoon

The Four corner Pineapple doiley is done and needs to be blocked out but my mother has already claimed it for her own collection and I couldnt resist a trip to get some more fine cotton to make a different doiley from the same book. These are great to work on when it is a tad too warm.

Boss selected his spot to watch from and crashed out while I worked on a sock to finish and then went back to the spiral sock to finish it too. I have to get thru my sock stash to give the left overs to a friend who is making a left over sock yarn mitred square blanket. I must say it helps tidy up the room and the ufos in one hit. I have a feeling I have another orphan to find and make a mate for. I next need to attack the tofutsies and the achievement certificate jumper as well as I think there is a vest or so partly done. Oh the fun of having time to be on track again. My work knitting will be bed socks for Berrima Womens prison as they are a tad more mindless and will help to tidy things as well rounding up the strays. I guess this is going to be fun.

Welcome to Easter or as I have named it chocoholics paradise. I was lucky to win a lucky seat prize at work and win a choc bunny. I can still say I havent touched any yet.

A snippet more of the show this time the 300mm woodchop. This was also the winner choping it thru in just 30 seconds.
The Jack n Jill double handed saw event which also was good to watch.

On to what I am playing with. I have had one spiral sock done for ages and now it is time to get its friend done so I have been tinkering on that for the past week. I did make another Owl and more beanies and bootees but they were orders and have gone to their new homes.

I even got back to making a doiley again and well it is nearly done just I was out at friends when I ran out of the cotton and didnt have the second one with me so tomorrow will be relaxing and tinkering more on these projects. I even have another few things to finish off as well.

Enjoy what the bunny leaves you and enjoy a relaxing sit and knit as well. At least my relaxing is going well and I have not really done anything much just sat about watching the box and working away.

SIR! YES!! SIR!!

Today was the big day out for me a trip to the Easter Show to see the displays and see my competition in full. Above we have the baby dress that got Highly commended, Below the Hand of Grace which despite being on a pedestal was right above the winning item.

I had a full day out and a few little things caught my eye as all militaria do.

A crochet teddy in complete WWI light horseman regalia complete with emu feather in the hat.

Private Paratrooper Bear who is a dressed Vietnam Era with a lovely set of miniatures to go with it.

OOPPSSS!!!!! this yelled out at me too strongly like a military call. I had to take this little monster home to tame it. It make me wimper under its pressure and had to go home with me. All I could do is reach for my pocket as it was saying take me home and thats an order. There were a few other bags trying but this one spoke in a demanding tone so it went with me very quietly after that. I will post more tomorrow and some of my recent obsessions.

OH dear who would not check that

I looked at the online results ready to link them and well we find a problem. Where is the bag in 1st place. So email and calling later they put the wrong item to the ribbon. I only really have got a highly commended with the dress though. Oh well it is wrong when they have so many inaccuracies on teh preview night to fix in a day and have ready for tomorrow.

Oh what a wonderful wonderful day day I will never forget.......

Well we have results. Thanks to the wonderful Donna and Ailsa for looking I have news big news.... The baby dress got highly commended and the beaded bag Hand of Grace got 1st prize. I was able to be sitting when I found out and then didnt know what to do cry scream out or what. As I was on a break at work and in a phones ok area I was basically alone. I then watched as people were going past but noone came thru for ages that I actually knew and then one of my team mates comes that I could share it with followed by my manager and well then I guess it was time to ring and message friends. I was shaking so much it was hard to go back to work. Atleast I was sitting down and not looking straight into the case at the show I think I may have passed out.

Congrats also go to Kris for her highly Commended and Donna on her second. I will bring back pictures on Friday but for now I guess I had best think about next year.

PRGE Contest

As a part of PRGE we have a little partnered comp and my secret pal had to send me her 3 favorite songs and I have to match the song to a yarn or project.

#1 - Social Distortion "Sick Boys"



Well this is a ver repeatative song with the main line always having sick boys and then something following. I say socks it goes round and round like the words. These are my tofutsies being made into Spey Valley from the Nancy Bush knitting on the Road that I got in the last PRGE exchange.



#2 - No Use for a Name "Let Me Down"



I put my camo beanie here as it is like you are let sown by something and well years ago the Army was to assist in a flood I was in and at that time shopping bags had often been printed with thank God for the Salvos. We were actually on a Salvation Army camp and it was only us that helped ourselves with our emergency services uses not the Military who were to bring us alternate shelter and bedding as well as food.

Ramones "I Wanna Be Sedated"



Ok we have 2 here I have to say that 'Watch me go' gets my Peacock wool and hopefully I soon get myself organised to start it as well. I give "I wanna be sedated" a bib as it only really conjures up dribbling to me and my friends.

So it took a while as I have not heard of the songs or the bands before as they were not of my style and I am not sure how known they are in Australia. Yes I am still knitting but have been busy lately taking care of a few little things. I have done 2 10 inch squares for a group project of a rainbow rug with guild and I am doing the little bits of a baby set for a friend to give as a gift to a relo. I started the Socks but need to really finish the other few pairs needing friends done. This last weekendwas very full on and spent with friends having a good time. I was very worn out from the weekend before then added a very full one. This coming 4 day weekend I have off and will visit the Easter Show on Friday and more than likely slow back on the other 3 as I have promised a friend that whilst I am off to rest up a bit. The overdoing has caught up and I have to slow back a bit more. This one is a hard task as I tend to get caught up in stuff and wander off but then again he is serious about me keeping my deal. So looks like a knitting easter and dvd time instead to keep me out of trouble.

Fly on your Wings like an Eagle...

Well we had our annual HARS open day and Wings over the Illawarra. Pack baby and go see the Old girls such as Connie, Neptune, Vampire, Dakota, Drover and Felix the Catalina. A few Rolls of film later we have a good few hours out. I had a terrible time picking who brought in Saturday Sky so asked Maverick to help and here we have his favorite Girl Connie. She is a lovely old girl of the sky and a beautiful Lockheed Super Constellation who was a big birds nest in a desert not so long ago before getting a loving bit of tlc.

Spent Friday in traffic going to the showground to deliver the entries and then went to IKEA which is not only swedish for divorce but also get lost in shop. Once in and had lunch now how do I get out of here. not the easiest thing I have done but about 30 mins later I made it out alive. I had a little splurge at The Tea Centre and then took a quick detour into Bankstown on the way home. A long 2 days were had as yesterday I fitted and air show and a knitting group as well as catching up with friends for coffee and cake.

I have had some knitting done and well nothing is finished or worth taking a picture yet so I will wait till I have something a tad more interesting. Knitting and air shows dont mix too well as stitches are know to take up their wings and fly from the needles.

The Final chapter

I sit and I sew then I go to bed and do crabstich neck. Oh heck It is 2am best go to sleep finish it tomorrow.

Heck its 7 am I cant sleep wel reach over Ill finish the sewing. 8am done and buttoned so it is time to add the ticket to the back and attach yarn label.




Tomorrow it goes tothe Show and time will what the results will be. I atached teh ticket to Hand Of Grace and well the ticket is bigger than the bag so lucky it wasnt Baby Tessa. Next I have to figure what to do with the rest of my free day tomorrow.

Progress of PJ knitting and chatting went very well, still worried as Friday is looming fast. I started tanking it to work with me and well last night the Back was done and Tonight the sleeves so just the seaming and crochet neck edge to go and add 4 flat buttons for the neck opening and we should be there. Worst bit is the fact it will be out of my sight for a month and I will only make one check on visit.

I have a odd problem when my items are not with in the confines of my home. I dont sleep well till I know they are ok and even fret for them. I am always a terrible wreck on a judging day and until I get results I stay that way. Until this year no one ever went into the pavillion with me to see me get my results. This year a good friend of mine Shane came with me and He might not have been really enjoying the knitting but Art and Photography was his area.

For all of us entering the Show this year heres hoping it all goes well for us each. Just getting Displayed is a big credit.

I have been playing since the first exchange and Have had so much fun getting goodies each time and meeting new people. I am a Classic Metalhead and not really punk, I dont do girly or pink. I am rather plain and mostly in Black, Blue, Red or Grey.

I am sensitive to scents and have sensitive skin, strong scents upset me and I dont use face creams due to previous burn from one.

I work on the Directory services mainly on Call Connect and also do Floor supervision. I also knit for 2 alpaca shops. In the spare time I can be found knitting, watching DVDs, out doing Photography or just spending time with friends and cooking meals for them.
