A rose by any other name would be Irish

Well today was Guild and the workshop was this rose that becomes a brooch. So I start by teaching a friend to crochet. She mastered double crochet very quickly. Another lesson we will do a basic flower instead. then I set off on mine and before I know it I have caught up and showing others where to go next on it. so all done crochet the square backing and I just had to sew up.

Next month we have a double sided leaf scarf pattern so they can learn to read a graph. I will get the graph the week before to learn so I can teach the next week. Hopefully this wont happen every month. I have my helpers doing the samples as a learn for the July workshop already.

For now its back to the ever growing list before it gets any bigger.

Alot of work going on

Well Dolly needed to get her next clothing item and after again a whole lot of hard work we get a dress.

Fits her nicely but I would tweak it next time I was to ever make it.

But I have been house sitting for some Church friends and it was their week to do the flowers so given free run over their garden I was able to arrange the dahlias and roses to make this and wow was the words. Not my hard work but a gardener who claims they are not a gardener.

Miss Polly had a dolly

Yes a 16" Kader doll in knickers and singlet so far and will leave from me with a full outfit of Dress, Jacket, Bonnet and Bootees to be knitted. The type of job I get from my mother to do for a lady at her work so the Doll can go to a Great Grand daughter. So it has been a challenge as the pattern which is a proper on for the doll produced by Emu is lacking content. I made sure I had a 16" doll pattern in 3ply yarn to use and it needed to be a feather and fan layette. So the old Emu 651 pattern was made for experienced knitters only as alot of brain work and common sense comes into it.

We will see how we go on the Dress this weekend. That is the goal at least.
